To that end, our recently published 2025 Sustainability Report is a compilation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) achievements since Csquare was formed in January 2024 via the merger of two leading data center companies. This inaugural narrative includes insights into baseline progress, as well as tangible accomplishments such as our first climate risk assessment and an $885 million green bond issuance.
To lay a strong foundation, in 2024 we established ESG targets, including a commitment to 100% carbon-free energy by 2030, 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2033, and 100% renewable energy and net zero emissions by 2040. Our emissions reduction plan outlines actionable strategies across Scope 1 and 2 emissions, leveraging technologies like green energy procurement, renewable energy credits (RECs), and low-GWP refrigerants.
The report also highlights water and energy efficiency initiatives that made a significant impact. Pilot projects at data centers in Dallas and Atlanta saved millions of gallons of water annually by reducing the blowdown of water used for cooling. Additionally, airflow and temperature adjustments at PHX3 cut energy use by 1,240 MWh and earned recognition from the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings program and the site’s local electric utility. These efforts reflect Csquare’s commitment to operational excellence while reducing environmental impact.
Social responsibility is another pillar of Csquare’s ESG strategy, the company investing over 9,700 hours in employee training in 2024. And Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) like Women Empowered, Veterans and Allies Network, and the Green Team foster inclusion, community engagement, and sustainability awareness. In addition, we recorded ZERO occupational injuries and environmental incidents in 2024
Governance metrics reveal a robust infrastructure with 99.999% uptime and zero data breaches. Csquare’s cybersecurity program includes annual training, vulnerability scanning, and alignment with strict industry standards.
